| Full Description: | Overall Summary:An experienced professional purchasing individual responsible for installing and maintaining purchasing systems and procedures and responsible for ensuring best value purchasing for the organisation’s €12 million P.A. spend. The successful candidate will have a background in a builder's providers/hardware/retail background. Main responsibilities and duties to include: Install and maintain modern purchasing systems and procedures, Develop a strong positive rapport with suppliers and become the main contact between the company and suppliers, Rationalise and develop of a range of suppliers for each service with a clear specification of each product or service, Negotiate with suppliers on all terms including price to increase the company’s long term profitability, Work with suppliers to ensure product availability, delivery scheduling, pricing and any other issues, Source new products and alternative suppliers, Monitor the performance of suppliers and product lines, ensuring only the most competitive and advantageous contracts are maintained in order to maximise business profitability, Work with Department Managers to keep up to date with trends and needs when making buying decisions. Knowledge, & Skills, Competencies required: A professional purchasing background, A very high degree of commercial awareness, Ability to install strong easily understood purchasing systems and procedures, Ability to analyse statistics and spot trends, Strong negotiating skills, Able to work on own initiative, Excellent interpersonal skills, Well organised and professional individual, The ability to manage own workload and work with others, Excellent communicator. Credentials and Experience: An experienced all rounder with proven experience in a similar background. Professional Qualification in Purchasing. Gets on well with colleagues and suppliers alike. |
