| Full Description: | Our client is a wholesale slaughter plant based in Co. Donegal. They currently have a requirement for a Financial Controller with experience in the food industry. The position will report to the Managing Director. Job Role: Responsible for all financial and accounting matters in a multi-product environment as a member of the company’s senior management team. Contribute to cross-functional strategic planning to achieve company objectives. Produce weekly, monthly an annual accounts incorporating weekly KPI’s ownership. Essential Qualifications and Requirements: Accountancy Qualification – ACA, CIMA or ACCA equivalent essential. Extensive cost accounting experience in a food multi-product environment is essential. Demonstrated experience in the co-ordination of all aspects of Financial accounting, i.e. month-end reporting, financial statutory accounts preparation, adhering to strict internal corporate controls, working with internal/external auditors etc. US GAAP, IFRS and SOX experience is an advantage. Relevant industrial accounting experience, preferably within a large food processing environment, of between 5 – 10 years. Strong business acumen and professionalism, with the ability to interfere effectively at all levels. Strong analytical skills. Strong costing, cost analysis and driving related improvements. Highly developed leadership, interpersonal and people management skills with strength in planning and objective setting for a team of people. Proven Continuous Improvement and change management experience willing to discover best practices and strive and achieve them. Key responsibilities: Responsible for all aspects of cost accounting and financial strategic planning in a multi-product environment, establishing forecasts based on new product introductions and variance reporting. Development of budgets for each of the business units. Development of policies and procedures as required. Timely and accurate: weekly gross margin reports. Weekly KPI’s representing all areas. Monthly management accounts and other MIS reporting e.g. sales reports, product reports, margin reports. Customer profitability. Smooth running of all aspects of administration. Ensure tax, audit and company statutory compliance issues are in order including PAYE/PRSI and VAT returns and annual filing). Staff management linked to administration and overall HR control. Salaries – monthly and weekly. Controls and reconciliations. Cash Management, Credit Control and Cost Control. Minimise ForEx Exposure and foreign payments in multi-currencies. IT support and development. Objective setting and performance management of financial staff and senior operations staff. Manage debtors days and creditors days to optimize cash available and cash flow. |
